ZZ Plant is one of the most adaptable indoor plants and can grow in low to bright indirect light. Brighter indirect light encourages faster growth, but avoid strong direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering again. ZZ Plants store water in their underground rhizomes, so they are much more tolerant of underwatering than overwatering.
Feed once every 1–2 months during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer. Little fertilizer is needed, especially when the plant is growing slowly in lower light.
The biggest mistake with ZZ Plants is overwatering. If you're unsure whether it needs water, check the soil first and wait until it has dried well; keeping the rhizomes constantly wet can quickly lead to root rot.
