Low light will be tolerated but like all houseplants, it needs bright indirect sunlight. Some sun will be helpful, but harsh sunshine will scorch the leaves.

Water:

Underwatering a chamaedorea is better than overwatering. Water well then wait until the surface of the soil has dried out, at which point water well again. Limit the amount of water given when light or temperature levels are low simply because in those conditions plants don’t need as much water.

Chamaedorea grows beautifully in bright indirect light but is also one of the best palms for lower-light homes. Avoid harsh direct sunlight

Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly before watering again. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy.

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced NPK fertilizer.

This palm appreciates stable conditions. Keep it away from heating vents and cold drafts to prevent brown leaf tips.
