Asplenium antiquum prefers bright, indirect or filtered light and does best away from strong direct sunlight. Gentle morning light is fine, but harsh afternoon sun can scorch its delicate fronds and cause brown patches.
Keep the soil consistently and lightly moist, but never waterlogged. Water when the surface begins to feel slightly dry, and avoid allowing the root ball to dry out completely.
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced houseplant fertilizer. Avoid overfertilizing, as excess salts can cause brown edges on the fronds.
Always water around the base of the plant rather than directly into the center of the rosette, because water trapped in the crown can encourage rot. High humidity also helps keep the new fronds fresh and prevents crispy brown edges, making this fern especially happy in a humid spot away from strong air-conditioning.
