Light:

Basil needs to be in a location that gets 2 to 4 hours of full sun daily, try to locate it in a sunny position in your balcony or garden.

Water:

Give basil water when the soil gets dry, and do your best to water the plant at its base and not all over its leaves. Avoid overwatering (When you see the lower leaves turn yellow, it’s usually overwatering symptoms).

Basil loves moderate bright sunlight and grows fastest when receiving several hours of direct light daily. 3-5 hours per day means fuller growth and better flavor.

Keep the soil evenly moist without becoming waterlogged. Basil prefers consistent moisture, especially during hot weather.

Feed lightly every 2 weeks during active growth. Moderate feeding helps maintain lush foliage production and flowers production.

Pinch off flower buds as soon as they appear. This encourages the plant to focus on producing flavorful leaves instead of seeds. However if you need more scent keep some flowers for this purpose.
