Poinsettia plants thrive in semi-sunshine. Leaf drop is common, if the plants do not get enough sunlight, especially if they are moved from an area of semi-sun to shade, without an adjustment period.

Water:

Poinsettia needs moist soil. The soil should not remain wet all the time, but long dry spells will slow the plants’ growth and the leaves will start to turn brown around the edges.
