Keep the soil evenly moist, allowing only the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. Coleus prefers consistent moisture and may wilt quickly if it becomes too dry, but it usually recovers well after watering. Avoid leaving the roots in soggy soil.

Feed every two weeks during spring and summer with a balanced NPK fertilizer. Regular feeding encourages lush, colorful foliage and continuous growth. Reduce fertilizing during the cooler months when growth naturally slows.

Coleus is grown for its stunning foliage rather than its flowers. Pinch off the growing tips regularly to encourage a fuller, bushier plant, and remove any flower spikes as they appear so the plant keeps putting its energy into producing vibrant leaves.

Dark shade places make the foliage colors pale, keen on a moderate lighting conditions to keep it colorful.
